Not to be mistaken for LightTime at Scienceworks, there is a second interactive experience to enjoy at Spotswood's historic Pumping Station this winter.
The art installation called Laser Maze and Forest by Mosser Studio offers families a 'Mission Impossible' style experience! Duck and weave through the green Laser Maze and try to race the clock to the finish.
Then move into the tranquil Laser Forest where you can explore a stylised forest made out of several red laser beams and billowing smoke in a playful atmosphere. Will you be able to catch the lasers with your hands or will they disappear?
The Pumping Station, on the grounds of Scienceworks museum, boasts an interesting history. Built in the 1890s, the building was built to help sanitise Melbourne's public health system. For close to 70 years, Melbourne's sewage was collected in underground sewers and passed through the pumps at Spotswood, on its way to the treatment works at Werribee.
The Pumping Station
The Pumping Station no longer functions as it's intended purpose, but is instead offers as a venue to hire for functions as well as exhibitions and art displays much like the Amazon Laser Maze and Forest.
This unique Laser Maze and Forest experience is inclusive of your entry into Scienceworks Museum.
