Frankston Arts Centre has to be one of the greatest theatres to take small children to. The parking is easy and the theatre is very kid friendly. Not only that, they also have some of the most wonderful children's theatre. Recently we went to see The Gruffalo.
We got to follow the most enchanting little Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in this endearing, musical adaptation of the firm favourite picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
You all know the story, and I'm pleased to report the stage adaptation is just as captivating. The performers clever choreography, the interaction with the audience and the snake, make this an entertaining show for the parents as well as the kids. Hooray for the adult jokes thrown in too!
Full to bursting with songs, laughs and scary fun, this is a great show for children aged 3 plus. I took two 7 year olds who loved every minute. For those of you who have little ones who are scared of the dark, rest assured that the theatre lights very rarely go off completely and there is no judgement if you need multiple toilet breaks.
The Gruffalo is a perfect morning adventure for little Gruffalo fans. Funny, charming, and very well delivered by an exceptionally talented cast! Can I go again please?
See The Gruffalo perform next at The Drum Theatre in Dandenong on 14 May, 2018. Tickets are a very reasonable $20.90 otherwise group tickets (4 plus) are just $18.50 each.
