We are so fortunate to live in this great city. In the spirit of Melbourne receiving Most Liveable City for the seventh year in a row is even more of a reason to celebrate Marvellous Melbourne. This weekend is a chance to do just that!
Melbourne is celebrating it's 182nd birthday and is doing so in true Melbournian fashion with free family friendly festivities for all to enjoy.
Bring the family along to Docklands on Sunday and join the party. There is an 'Absolutely 80's' themed concert rock along with 80's legends Brian Mannix (Uncanny X-Men), Scott Carne (Kids in the Kitchen) and Ally Fowler (The Chantoozies) performing their biggest hits!
Also, Melbourne music legends Wendy Stapleton and Paul Norton from Wendy and the Rocketts. As well as Peta Evans-Taylor from The Voice 2015 will be performing.
With a host of activities throughout the day. Highlights include the chance to climb aboard the schooner Enterprize, the replica of the ship that brought the first settlers in 1835 or take a selfie with the 2017 Junior Lord Mayor of Melbourne.
In true party form there will be gourmet food trucks, roving entertainment, face painters, giveaways and more.
No birthday celebration is complete without cake and you can shout out your 'hip hip hoorays' during the cutting of a giant birthday cake. The icing on the cake for the lucky ones is a free birthday cupcake.
Other attractions include: Sunday Docklands Market, on Harbour Esplanade for Melbourne Day celebrations, from 10am to 5pm.
