Winter in Melbourne is in full force, but that doesn't mean you need to hibernate. This year, Victoria's capital city has fully embraced the cooler months of the year with snow play, ice slides, outdoor skating and even an entire indoor festival dedicated to winter!
Christmas in July at Luna Park
Luna Park is the latest Melbourne venue to celebrate winter. Indeed it appears there is snow place better to be in St Kilda than Melbourne's Luna Park for this year's Christmas in July extravaganza.
The festivities kick off on 1st July and will run until 16th July, turning Melbourne’s most iconic amusement park into a magical Christmas wonderland, with:
A magical snowfall every hour
Special visits from Santa and his elf in the Christmas domes.
Climb upon Santa’s sleigh and marvel at his majestic throne while the Nutcrackers and giant candy canes will have you feeling merry and bright.
If you’re looking for the ultimate Christmas in July experience, grab your unlimited ride ticket and ‘skate’ the kids over to the outdoor (synthetic) ice rink, located opposite Luna Park’s famous ‘Sky Rider’ Ferris Wheel. It’s sure to be a ho-ho- whole lot of fun.
In addition to the Christmas in July festivities, Luna Park will also be giving away Despicable Me 3 prize packs. For your chance to win, simply ‘find your inner twin’ in the wonky mirrors and post on social media with the hashtag #LunaLive.
The minions from Despicable Me 3 will also be making an appearance every Saturday from 12pm- 3pm.
Head to Luna Park this winter for Melborune's unmissable Christmas in July celebrations. Entry to the park itself is free, you only need to pay for the rides you want to try out. Pay per ride or go for an unlimited ride package.
