The hilarious Circus Oz crew opened TWENTYSIXTEEN in the Big Top at Birrarung Marr last week, and it's a good one.

The sprightly bunch burst into the ring in a show that is more about strength and acrobatics over than fancy costumes and stage sets.

That said, TWENTYSIXTEEN also demonstrates that circus can be an equal mix of comedy and agility, topped off with tongue-in-cheek Aussie banter that audience members have grown to love about Circus Oz.

It is hard to pick a favourite act or performer in TWENTYSIXTEEN; there's a lot of Circus Oz entertainment to feast your eyes over.

The 'clowns' of the show, in particular Dale Woodbridge-Brown is a very funny guy. He parades around the stage in his aboriginal flag inspired red sequinned shorts-suit; a nod to his indigenous heritage.

Then there's 'Infinity Love Beads', a character who goofs around the ring mocking all things hipster, and sometimes confuses her chakras for Shakira!

It is highly likely you will see acts in TWENTYSIXTEEN that you will remember for a while to come. Such acts include:

A balancing act, which sees two circus stars swap clothes in the most unlikeliest of ways.

A very quirky chair balance act.

An impressive all-over-body juggle from feet, to head, hands to legs.

Unicycling while spinning another human.

Let's not forget, the Circus Oz ensemble are not accompanied by a live band; they ARE the live band. When the artists aren't performing themselves, they are belting out some musical rhythms to accompany their fellow performer's acts.

Circus Oz TWENTYSIXTEEN opens just in time for the school holiday break, giving you the perfect reason to treat the kids this winter.

While youngsters may not sit for the majority, TWENTYSIXTEEN would perhaps better suit a child over the age of 5, who would happily sit in awe and enjoy the exceptional talent that is..Circus Oz.

Add Circus Oz TWENTYSIXTEEN to your school holiday 'to-do' list this winter; your kids will love you for it, and you'll get plenty of laughs out of this highly entertaining show.
