The KidTown crew finally made it to the Dandenong Festival of Lights, and what a treat it was.
The family-friendly festival at the Dandenong Showgrounds, sees huge displays of beautiful silk lanterns light up the night sky after sunset.
Now that daylight savings is upon us, this means we first arrived at the festival in daylight. With sunset around 7:30pm, this is an opportunity to see the display come to 'life' as the sun sets.
From babies to grandparents, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. Our own little 2 year old loved the huge butterflies and dinosaurs, whereas our older son enjoyed taking in the sights of the mythical Chinese dragons, temples and tree decorations.
The festival opened on 26 August, and the 2016 season has now been extended to remain open until 16 October 2016. Doors opens at 6pm every night, closing at 10pm.
You've got one week left to make it to the Dandenong Festival of Lights. Tickets are reasonably priced at $20 adult, $18 concession, $14 child, Under 3s FREE. Family tickets are also available.
