Get your kids out exploring nature this Easter, with Eco Explorers nature based workshops running over the school holiday break.

Eco Explorers run 'nature based bush playgroups' in term time for pre-school children at Ricketts Point, Braeside Park, Newport Lakes Reserve, Lysterfield Lake Park, Gresswell Forest, Arthurs Seat State Park and Currawong Bush Park.

Bush playgroups involve climbing trees, building nature cubbies, searching for bugs and fungi, jumping in puddles, nature art and exploring the wilderness.

This Easter, Eco Explorers will offer 5 workshops for primary school aged children (5 - 12yrs), all at Currawong Bush Park, Doncaster.

Eco Explorers School Holiday Program:

Traditional Nature Art
3 Apr 2017 1:30 - 4pm

Introduce your children to the tradition of nature art through painting, learning how to make their own paint by crushing rocks and using other natural materials like plants and charcoal. All materials are sourced from nature so the children will have to be creative to find and make their own tools which involves ‘thinking out of the box’ and using their problem-solving skills. There will also be a bush walk if time permits.

Cost: $30 single child, $50 for two children and $70 for a family.

Kite Making
5 Apr 2017 1:30 - 4pm

Your children will have a go at making their own kites! Using recycled materials and items from nature children will design and construct their own kites to fly. There is lots of discussion about wind and weight, as well as construction, with plenty of creativity and problem solving throughout the session.

Cost: $30 single child, $50 for two children and $70 for a family.

Bush & Rope Skills
7 April 2017. 1:30 - 4pm

This session is based around learning basic bush skills as your kids get to enjoy getting out into the bush, climbing, looking for wildlife, visiting the pond and learning to tie various knots and make constructions out of tree branches. Great for encouraging team work and problem-solving skills, as well as being a really fun afternoon in the bush.

Cost: $30 single child, $50 for two children and $70 for a family.
