NGV Escher x nendo Between Two Worlds

Escher x nendo: Between Two Worlds is a quirky, monochromatic journey, which is a little bit Alice in Wonderland, a little bit Labyrinth and a whole lotta optical illusion.

This is the first time the timeless works of Dutch artist Escher have been seen in Melbourne, and certainly the first time they’ve been displayed in such a unique way thanks to the NGV’s collaboration with the Japanese design studio nendo.

While I visited without the kids today, I already know which areas they’re going to love when I take them back.

I can picture them now, playing hide and seek in the “THE FORM OF A HOUSE” and scuttling down the Alice in Wonderland-esque infinity corridor named “ZOOMING HOUSE.”

I have a feeling we’re going to need a couple of visits to see it all. There’s a lot of (mind-blowing) artworks to see.
