The Melbourne Museum will open an exciting new immersive experience 'Museum Inside Out' this summer, which will 'turn the traditional museum experience completely on its head.'
'Museum Inside Out' opening on 23 December 2017 will reinterpret Museum Victoria's objects and present them in a new, playful and quietly thrilling one-of-a-kind adventure.
But that is not all.
In addition to 'Museum Inside Out', Museums Victoria will present more than 40 exhibitions covering design, fashion, migration and Australian First Peoples history & culture across all Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks, the Immigration Museum, IMAX Melbourne and the Royal Exhibition Building.
There will be two new international exhibitions over the coming year: Vikings - bringing together the largest collection of Viking artifacts ever displayed in Australia; and Above and Beyond, an interactive exhibition where visitors can design and virtually fly their own experimental aircraft.
Lastly, although Scienceworks have said goodbye to the Nitty Gritty Super City, fear not. Two new groundbreaking permanent exhibitions will launch at Museum Victoria's science museum.
'Ground Up' designed for babies to 5-year-olds will encompass the wonders of STEM, while Beyond Perception: Seeing the Unseen is geared toward young adults.
Both exhibitions will be open at Scienceworks early in 2018.
