Frankston beach

Little did you know that Frankston Beach has twice been named Victoria's best beach!

The stunning blue waters and magnificent views across Port Phillip Bay make this a great destination to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Frankston beach is also home to the Asia-Pacific ironman championship, with hundreds of competitors competing each year.

Each year Frankston welcomes the Frankston Sand Sculpture exhibition which draws tourists from across the country (and in fact internationally). Some of the best sand sculptors come to Frankston and create fantastic masterpieces for kids to enjoy.

The Frankston foreshore boardwalk is popular with local exercise enthusiasts and Frankston Football club. The boardwalk snakes along the foreshore from the jetty to the playground, carpark and information centre and is absolutely stunning. The coast guard building can be found right near the playground.

The playground at the beach is frequented by a relatively large numbers of families as it is very popular. With a range of activities available for kids, there's always something to do.

The playground is situated right next to the parking area, with plenty of parking available (except on hot summer days when it's absolutely full all the way up the highway). Public transport is available with a train to Frankston CBD and a walk to the beach should be manageable for older kids. Buses run through Frankston as well.

If you get sick of the beach, then there are businesses located nearby selling fish and chips and other food that is perfect for the beach. Just a couple of hundred metres up Nepean Highway, there is a fish and chip shop, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian, pubs, and much more.

Frankston beach information centre

Frankston Information Centre has regularly won Australia's best Customer Information Centre for Councils. And there's a reason for that. It's perfectly located at the beach and entrance to Frankston, with highly trained and friendly staff with a multitude of information for those tourists visiting the area.

There's really no excuse not to come and visit Frankston beach!
