Melbourne is heating up early this summer, just in time for CBD visitors to Slide the Square.

A giant inflatable water slide will be set up right in the heart of Melbourne's iconic public space, between between 9 and 16 January 2016.

Slide the Square down three lanes and 75 metres of fun, for just one week. For those concerned the slide will waste precious water, fear not. Slide The Square water is 100% recycled into tanks to hydrate Fed Square's gardens.

No need to bring your bathers, but you might like to pack a change of clothes to change into, after your wet and wild city adventure!

Where: Federation Square
When: Sat 9 to Sat 16 January 2016. 11am – 8pm daily (last slide finishes at 9.00pm)
Cost:(per 50 minute session) Adult $20, Concession & Child U16 $17. Family $65.
Book: fedsquare.com/slide
