Gut Feelings - Your mind. Your microbes at the Melbourne Museum
Along with our curious 7 year old boy and his friend we visited the spectacular Melbourne Museum and immersed ourselves as we took a walk through the Museum's newest temporary exhibition -
Gut Feelings.
This exhibition displayed fun and multi-sensory experiences for all ages big and small! The boys kept chanting "the inside of our guts feel so good"!
Stunning and colourful displays helped us to explore new revelations about how our minds, guts and these tiny little helpers called microbes are all linked. How do gut microbes affect our thoughts and behaviours? How can you love them so they will love you back? How long are my intestines? Wow, how do they fit in our body? Pretty cool "gutsy" sort of stuff!
Our overall "gut feeling" was simply described in one word "awesome"! We enjoyed learning the answers to the many questions associated with our guts. We took a walk amongst our microbes in a gut tunnel, gazed at art and science installations and saw our guts in a whole new light.
