Think you have read all of what Dr. Seuss has to offer? Think again!
Horton and the Kwuggerbug and more Lost Stories, are newly-released vintage treasures. Some of which were originally published in magazines in the 1950s.
This spectacular children's book, consists of four short-stories.
The first, titular story features the familiar face of Horton the Elephant. He is joined by a scheming bug in search of beezlenuts, the finest nuts in the jungle. They embark on an epic journey where, in the end, the bug gets what he deserves.
The second story- Marco comes Late tells the elaborate tale of the reason why Marco is late for school.
How Officer Pat Saved the Whole Town, as the title implies, is the story of how Officer Pat saved the town from perceived chaos.
The last one, The Hoobub and the Grinch, involves a devious Grinch and a piece of green string.
Each story consists of Dr Seuss's trademark rhyming prose and unique characters.
The book layout itself differs from his others, in the way that there are a lot more words on each page, compared to pictures. Even though the words themselves are fantastic, younger children get a little impatient and just want to turn the page to see another picture.
Therefore, I would recommend that this book would be more suited to an older demographic of 5 to 10.
These are truly great stories, filled with the magic and quirkiness you love and expect from Dr. Seuss.
It's sure to be a favourite!
