Inflatable World in Oakleigh

Indoor play centres have come a long way since we were kids, with many places boasting high tech equipment, huge soft play areas, wall-to-wall trampolines, age appropriate divisions and tempting menus for a decent lunch.

The newest breed of indoor play venues pumping up all over the country is Inflatable World; a franchise of vast jumping castle playgrounds positioned within very large centres.

Inflatable World

A recent Inflatable World venue bounced its doors open to the public in Oakleigh last December, incorporated within an indoor sports centre.

Bounce areas are split across three sections, although it is more of an open plan design, with large netting walls and no doors. There is an area dedicated to little folk, for those that prefer a gentle jump on smaller jumping castles.

Firm favourites are the jumping cliff, the Gladiator-style inflatable knock-out sessions, the hilarious velcro wall with matching outfits and the rock challenge.

The Velco Wall

There are seated areas for the spectators, and for the kids to wind down after a busy bounce. Snacks and hot chips are available to purchase, otherwise you can bring your own. It is not advised to bring your drinks; you can buy water, soft drinks, juices and hot drinks from the kiosk.

The Gladiators!

In school holidays, Inflatable World opens every day (including Sunday) from 10am to 4pm, and 10am to 6pm on Saturday. During term time, bounce times are limited to the weekend, open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Jumping Cliff

Inflatable World does not remain inflated for the entire day, the air is pumped for opening hours, and packed away when jumping hours cease.

Entry fees vary depending on age; there is a fee for 4 years and under, 5 years and over, and paying adults (yes, parents and guardians can have a go too!). Spectators are free. Sessions are for two hours for a single entry fee. Bookings are not required, however groups of 10 or should call ahead.

TOP TIP In school holidays, aim to visit in the afternoon; mornings can get very, very busy.

Being an indoor venue, Inflatable World proves to be an all-year-round activity, operating rain, hail or shine. Take your kids for a bounce in the holidays or at the weekend, they will love you for it.

TOP TIP Remember to bring socks. All children and adults must wear socks to bounce. If you do forget your socks though, don't fret, you can buy a pair for $2.50
