It never ceases to amaze me how many amazing parks are hidden in each suburb across Melbourne. A favourite for the G boys is McAlpin Reserve in Ringwood North.
Accessible from Wonga Road, it’s very easy to drive past this gem, but don’t! At the end of a long driveway off Wonga Road there is a kids’ playground oasis.
Touted as one of Ringwood North’s largest reserves this play space offers a large choice of play equipment for kids. But what makes this space a stand out is the surrounding walking trails through the stunning tree lined reserve.
The playground includes some unique apparatus including:
- Hammock swings
- Pyramid climbing frame
- Monkey bars
- Two swings
- Flying fox
This remarkable spot has so much to offer beyond the impressive playground equipment.
The pond with surrounding boardwalks
A large pond with boardwalks, bridges and waterfalls allow you to enjoy the delights of the great outdoors in the middle of suburbia.
Plenty of picnic spots
McAlpin Reserve is, without doubt, a perfect spot to bring a picnic and hang with friends. There are picnic tables, BBQs dotted around this green space.
With free parking and toilets nearby, this is definitely a jewel of the East.
