The NGV's colourful kids space designed to coincide with the gallery's newest exhibition KAWS: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness.
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV)'s kids gallery NGV Kids has been transformed into a bright, bold and fun artistic playground for young creatives.

KAWS:PLAYTIME coincides with
KAWS: Companionship In The Age Of Loneliness, an exhibition celebrating the works of Contemporary American artist KAWS, a.k.a Brian Donnelly.

KAWS:PLAYTIME is a dedicated playful kids exhibition that KAWS has created, introducing promising young artists of today to his creative approach and artistic methods of integrating pop culture into his work.

Children are invited into a colourful pink and blue (the colours representing KAWS' "BFF" characters) space. From here, there are touch-screen digital art activities to try, cards and stickers to play with and fun videos to record and share with friends and family via social platforms.

KAWS:PLAYTIME is visually attractive play space, with plenty of nooks and backdrops to entice even the bigger kid Instagrammers of Melbourne too!
Because the NGV's Kids space remains free for all to enjoy, we suspect KAWS:PLAYTIME might attract the crowds these spring school holidays, so our suggestion would be to arrive early, later in the day or perhaps after the rush dies down. KAWS:PLAYTIME and KAWS: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness will remain open until April 2020 so you have plenty of time to see it.
