Melbourne Central is a prominent city based shopping space that has definitely received a lick of paint in recent times. Furthermore, Melbourne Central is rather kid-friendly. I'll happily explain.
For starters, Melbourne Central has it's own train station on the City Loop that also connects travellers to the Frankston and Craigieburn train lines to name a few. This is ultra convenient for families. No other city based shopping centre can claim fame to this. Parents, to make it easier to feed the little ones when hungry; there are an abundance of food outlets. On this, Melbourne Central is a perfect locale to enjoy a family lunch together, despite being rather packed to the rafters on weekends in their two food courts.
Melbourne Central is also home to a popular pets store where cats, dogs and guinea pigs can be purchased. The animals at the shop front are a joy for all to watch and admire.
There is a Hoyts Cinema space, with a bean bag cinema available. This locale is quite a popular space for families to take their kids to the movies, and there is also a ten-pin bowling space nearby - not to mention Strike being right across the road at nearby QV.
Additionally, Melbourne Central is home to a funky stationery retailer by the name of Smiggle. A perfect place to buy them some funky accessories for school and/or for home use. Keep you eye out for occasional shows for the kids in the entrance area opposite the State Library of Victoria. Melbourne Central was once home to a hot dog eating contest way back in 2011, of which provided pure entertainment for the little ones; even for the adults.
For the little fashion lovers among the kids of Melbourne, Seed is one adorable kid-friendly retailer in this shopping centre space. The range of clothes, beanies and winter scarves you can buy for the little ones here is more extensive that the clothing available for adults on the other side. I highly recommend this shop when clothes shopping for kids at Melbourne Central. Additionally, Country Road is right opposite Seed, and they have kid-friendly and cool kids clothes in mind also. Enjoy the experience, and have a fun, family friendly day out at Melbourne Central.
