We walked into a room with a large table all set for some serious craft activity. Two beautiful, beaming, welcoming smiles greated us. Suddenly a ukulele appeared and everyone started singing a very tuneful rendition of 5 little ducks.
Cecilia and Jamie the creators of Lattes and Learners explained to me that they were both primary school teachers who had a passion for educating children. Since they both became mothers, they turned their passion and experience of teaching towards kinder aged children. They quickly discovered that kids are easily educated while they are having fun! Mums attending the session are able to have a well deserved hour off enjoying a hot cup of coffee.
Hence the name Lattes and Learners.
I was shooed out of the room and instructed to relax with a coffee in the courtyard. It really didn't take much persuasion for me to oblige.
Leaving Miss 3 to enjoy songs, play games, listen to stories and partake in activities with the other children.
Lattes and Learners is a fantastic program aimed at 3 to 5 year olds. Sessions can be booked on an ad hoc basis or can be purchased in term blocks. The maximum number of children per class is 10, and unlike some other programs they don't stop during term time.
Lattes and Learners also run sessions on a Tuesday at Olive Lane in North Balwyn, head Here to find out more.
