Levi is warmly welcomed by the locals to Murrumbeena.
If you've been to Frank's in Cheltenham, you would know that they're a destination for great food and service. Frank's is a place where everyone can feel at home. They've established a loyal local following, as well as attracting foodies from all over Melbourne.
With their great success, they have opened their little brother cafe, Levi, in Murrumbeena. They stand for the same principles and in their short opening, they have already established themselves as the place to be.
The food is exceptional. With veteran head chef, Emma Jeffrey leading the crew in the kitchen. She is best known from some of Melbourne's top cafes, such as Hammer and Tong, and Mammoth.
Together with what makes Frank's a success, Levi have introduced a wonderful kid's play area.
This play area is like no other. It is spacious and suitable for most ages. It includes a hidden door behind the bookshelf, with access to a great little nook with a climbing wall.
There's plenty of activities, including colouring pencils (which also is available at the tables), books, toys, a blackboard and beanbags to watch T.V.
Levi has a large bright chic interior and a dog friendly covered courtyard with a retractable roof. The ambience of the venue is welcoming and the revamped factory has been given a new life and purpose.
The menu appeals to most tastes, including great options on their kid's menu. We ordered their Chicken Roll (with Hot Roast Chicken, Stuffing, Chips and Chicken Gravy) and their Kid's Egg Scramble with Bacon. Despite being busy, service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious.
Frank's pride themselves with knowing their customer's names and it was a lovely surprise that the hostess farewelled me by name. She had known my name from the waiting list for a table. Little details like this matter and added to our wonderful experience.
Levi are a welcomed addition to an already abundance of kid friendly venues in the area. They offer a unique kid space and delightful food in a welcoming space. This is one venue not to miss.
