Looking for a fun and rather monstrous activity to do with your kids this coming weekend? LIDO Cinemas in Hawthorn, presents a quirky morning of cartoons to tie in with this year's Monster Fest.
Monster Fest is a fun 4-day festival showcasing creepy, spooky and altogether hooky faves and obscurities from the 1940s to the 1980s, with vintage commercials and PSAs in between.
That said, there's nothing scary about the kids flicks offered on Saturday morning. In the theme of Monster Fest, this Saturday's All-You-Can-Eat Cereal Cartoon Party, will feature a full 3-hours animated goodness from yesteryear, complete with an all-you-can-eat buffet of delicious sugary cereals to munch on.
Kids today may not realise the significance of the Saturday morning ritual, but once upon a time, we had to wait a whole week to get our cartoon fix, and when we got it, we tended to binge. That's what this Saturday morning is all about!
Gather your sprogs and head down to LIDO Cinemas to feast on a morning of monster snacks and "vintage" cartoons you may remember from your own childhood.
