Love Madre is a plant-based café with wholesome and nutritious comfort food.
We love cafes that have wholesome and healthy food. Love Madre, in Cheltenham, appeals not only to adults but to kids too. They create a warm welcoming environment for everyone, in their cosy open view kitchen café.
They offer something fun, nutritious and exciting for the kids. They have a great selection of sweets and beverages for the kids. Order a smoothie, baby chino or specifically ask for a bunny chino, which will sure make any child smile. Their sweets include healthier, comforting or even raw options and many specifically cater to dietary requirements too.
Being plant based, they’re great for dietary requirements and offer a large range of alternative milks. Their beverages are just beautiful in presentation too. Each of their baristas have their unique flare with their coffee art and you can order anything from a flat white, dirty chai, super drink (beetroot, blue dream, turmeric etc) to a smoothie or iced drink.
We popped in for a brunch with my son and were warmly welcomed by staff. The sweets looked absolutely delicious on display in their cabinet. I ordered a bunny chino for my son and a cold pressed juice for myself. To share, I ordered their Smashed Avo on sourdough bread, served with house made almond fetta, cherry tomatoes, hemp seeds and balsamic drizzle.
Both beverages arrived quickly and equally excited my son! He’s very enthusiastic over juice and the novelty of drinking from a straw. He loves bunnies, so the bunny chino was very exciting for him! Our smashed avo arrived shortly after and describing it as comforting is an understatement. It was flavoursome and while I notice the difference between almond based fetta and animal based; the almond version was delicious and wholesome. The dish was balanced and the balsamic glaze was perfect to add that extra depth of flavour to it.
Their regulars absolutely love their buckwheat pancakes (topped with banana, strawberries, house made chocolate fudge and granola, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup), Nachos and The Big Madre (with scrambled tofu, garlic mushroom, spinach, tomato, rosti, toast, Italian sausage, haloumi, avocado, beetroot hummus and garlic cashew cream). Other popular dishes include their Pesto Toastie and Granola Bowl. We definitely need to return again to try more of their dishes.
Love Madre won’t leave you disappointed. Comforting, delicious and healthy food is a winner in our books. They have high chairs and you are best suited to table outside if dining during a busy time with a pram. They’re open Tuesday – Saturday (8am – 4pm) and on Sundays (9am – 3pm). They’re very friendly, so they’d love you to pop in and say hi!
