Celebrating their 50 Year Anniversary this year, Play School have released a special edition children's book, called The Useful Book.

In a similar manner to the 2006 edition of The New Useful Book (which is also available to purchase); this edition is crammed with nursery rhymes and game ideas from the much-loved TV show.

Along with ideas on things to make with products you most likely already have at home; such as a Tissue-box pig; there are also kid-friendly recipes with simple instructions that budding young chefs can easily follow.

Never one to miss out on learning possibilities, you will also find some great educational pages; such as how to say hello and goodbye in over 20 different languages.

Justine Clarke, one of Play School's favourite presenters, has written a beautiful introduction and best-selling illustrator, Jedda Robaard has created some gorgeous drawings that burst from the pages.

This is a truly indispensable book that parents, teachers and children are absolutely going to love. It is a great idea for a present and as a keepsake. It is sure to be a classic.

As simple as the title is, it sums up the book perfectly. It will, without a doubt, be the most useful children's book you will ever own!

It is available now from Harper Collins publishers for $19.99 RRP.
