We legged it to the Hisense Arena last night for the spectacular ‘Disney on Ice presents Frozen’. If you have Frozen fans at home, then this is the show that could win you some serious brownie points.
Disney on Ice Presents Frozen
Once through security we could see Hisense was packed full of princesses begging their parents to buy them a light up wand or an Elsa doll. My eyes were watering as I was handing over the cash.
Once my purse was emptied we headed to our seats. Wow! The arena looked amazing! The show begins and everyone’s favourite Disney characters appear. My son is thrilled as he loves Buzz Lightyear, who was skating past, shooting his laser at the audience. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy are their usual funny, entertaining characters. It’s an exciting start to the show for sure.
The stage is set
Frozen has to be the best show to put to ice!. The set was incredible, the scene changes seamless, the special effects were dramatic and cleverly done too. The inflatable ice monster got a gasp from the crowd!
This show is complete heaven for any Frozen fan. It has it all… ice, snow, love, dancing, beautiful dresses, princesses, singing, Olaf! Oh and who knew reindeer were such impressive skaters?
The expertise of the cast was breath-taking. You almost forgot they were ice skating as it seemed so effortless. Kristoff’s backflip at the end was super cool!
Disney on Ice have a winner here. My 5-year-old (one of about 6 boys in the audience) spent most of the show stabbing his sister with his light up sword (that’s a good evening for him), only looking up when Sven and Kristoff appeared or when Buzz made a comeback, he did however come out at the end saying “that was awesome"!
My 8-year-old daughter absolutely loved it. She was singing along, eyes wide, watching the most magical show I think she has ever seen. Looking around I could see that all the Frozen fans were in a whole heap of ooziness for the show, on the edge of their seats, with love hearts bursting out of their eyes!
Anna and Olaf
Huge success, and a definite must see for all mini Anna, Elsa and Kristoff fans.
Top tip: Big shiny balloons on sale at the EXIT for about $10, make that the treat of the evening!
