Sesame Street: 50 years and counting opened on Friday 25 October, located under the Shot Tower in Melbourne Central.
Melbourne Central takes you back in time to venture through a visual feast of vibrant Sesame Street prints and mural creations. Showcasing 50 artists, reimagining 50 established Sesame Street characters from their 50-year history, Melbourne Central welcomes our feathered friends through a nostalgic and enthralling exhibition FREE for the public to enjoy.
This exclusive art exhibition celebrating one of the most iconic TV shows, is curated by the talented Eddie Zammit. Zammit (a Sesame Street fanatic), has worked with 50 artists – both local and international – and matched them with 50 individual Sesame Street characters to shape an incredibly interactive and animated experience.
And if you find yourself getting overexcited in the midst of taking a trip down memory lane, Sesame Street fiends can swing past a replica Mr. Hooper store and purchase exclusive Radio Velvet & T-world merchandise, 50 original artworks, street art murals, and some original photographs from the Sesame Street archive.
