KidTown Melbourne is all about collecting memories rather than things although sometimes, there are toys that strike a chord with us. The new Sesame Street Headstart Toy Range is one such brand we'd like to share with our readers.
Sesame Street has partnered with Headstart to supply Aussie kids with plush toys of their favourite characters.
Now if you don't know (because we didn't until now) Sesame Workshop, the creators of Sesame Street, is a not-for-profit organisation.
Headstart is one of Sesame Street’s licensees and as one of Sesame’s licensees, proceeds from the sale of these Sesame Street products go back into education and outreach programs around the world. These programs have been developed and implemented by Sesame.
Further information on Sesame Workshop’s outreach initiatives can be found here.
Essentially what this means is, when purchasing a Sesame Street product, you are helping children right around the world, whether it be for female education in Afghanistan, sanitation and hygiene in Bangladesh, or even right here in Australia where Sesame Workshop has rolled out initiatives such as a driveway safety program in conjunction with Kidsafe, RACV and the TAC.
It's always nice to know you are buying a toy that in some way helps others, even if it is a small percentage. it's something, right?
This Sesame Street collection has Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby in plush form.
There's a new Tickle Me Elmo and a Cookie Monster Puppet that’s always hungry for cookies! Twinkle Wings Abby's wings and dress sparkle and she also says over 20 phrases/sounds.
Also our personal favourite, Space Elmo!
Toys are available at leading department and toy stores including Big W.
