Not all temporary outdoor ice skating rinks have closed for the winter, the Ice Rink in the Town Square at Eastland for example, is still open until Thursday 31 August.
The 200 square metre Ice Rink is designed to operate in all weather conditions and is fully enclosed both top and sides.
Playing all the latest upbeat tunes to skate along to, Ringwood’s Town Square is the place to be in the 'burbs this winter.
I took Mini KidTown to Eastland last Friday. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get my skates on! Ice skating with the little man was so much fun.
We laughed so much skidding around each corner "go faster Mummy!' while Mini KidTown sat on his little blue Kangaroo (provided with the session). It wasn't too busy either, although it probably helped choosing a session during the working week. We arrived earlier than the first session and were the first ones in.
Want to hear the best part? It's free to use if you spend $20 at one of Ringwood's Town Square's eateries. I can highly recommend Caffee Stazione, which is the cafe directly opposite the ice rink and attached to the Realm library.
Incidentally, the Realm Library proved to be another amazing pit stop. We took advantage of the free gaming zone and explored the children's area on the 1st floor. We'll be back for more another day.
Skate the Ice Rink at Eastland until Thursday 31 August. On selected Sunday mornings the rink will be open to local children and adults with disabilities to encourage participation on the ice in a safe and secure environment.
