From our beautiful rainforests, much-envied beaches, soaring mountaintops, Australia is abundant - it's all here. The thing is, who has the time to see it all? As much as we'd like to explore these secluded landmarks, it's often
impractical, especially with kids, albeit I take my hat off to those who habitually globe-trot. It can be difficult to get out and actually experience our own tourist attractions, and when it comes to snow, one needs an extra layer of bravery (but kudos to those who have it).

Springvale Snowfest says enough and enough, it's time to bring that snow to us! On July 19th the tables will turn, as the City of Greater Dandenong change the game. Yes, real snow! Snow from Mt Buller, carted down the mountainside on special order for the kids of Melbourne. On Sunday July 19th, we won't have to cover ourselves in gore-tex, squeeze into our gumboots and brave the elements. No, we can simply take a quick drive.

But hold onto your hat! Because besides the wintry playground of Buller snow, there will be a bucketload of bonus attractions. Indeed, we're gonna need a bigger road for this big chill, with its ice-sculpting, fireworks, falling snow, roving performances, live stage performances, rides, arts and craft (also free), various stalls and the list continues. So I hope I've made at least one point clear - that there's something for everyone.

COST: Free admission, with rides between $2-$6 (tokens).

LOCATION: Corner of Buckingham Avenue and Balmoral Avenue, Springvale.

TIME: 12pm - 7pm.
