A Child-friendly Restaurant in Mordialloc with Bay Views

What's that you say? A child-friendly restaurant with beautiful sea views across the bay. Plus a fully equipped play area. And kids eat free on Tuesdays?

SunnyBoy Beach Club Kids Corner

Sounds too good to be true. But it is true because we had dinner there last night and it is everything you could possibly want for a stress-free family night out.

Introducing the SunnyBoy Kids Corner - a day dedicated to the kids.. and the parents who need a little R&R - all day each and every Tuesday.

Admittedly, this wasn't our first venture into the SunnyBoy Beach Club. Although the last time we booked a table at this bright and breezy Bayside eatery we'd left the kids behind with Grandma. This time though, being enticed by the idea that:

a) Kids eat free (with every main meal purchased or $30 food spend)
b) There's now a sizeable kids area.

We booked a table for the four of us, right by the window so we could see the sea, and (perhaps more importantly!) next to the play area.

The kids were right in amongst the toys and dress-ups before we could even blink, which gave us time to decide what to eat.

SunnyBoy isn't your typical chicken-nugget-and-chips affair either. The kids' menu still remains simple enough for little ones, but is more enticing than your bog standard frozen nugget meal. Our sons shouted their menu choices across to us - the fish & chips and mini burger respectively - and went on their merry way back to the play zone to build giant jenga blocks as the sun set over the sea. How nice is that?

Our 'grown-up' meals were lovely too. The Mushroom Gnocci and Seaford Linguini went down a treat with a glass of wine. Bonus points - the kids ate everything in record time so they could carry on with seemingly more important things - play time. We could've stayed much later into the night, but being that Tuesday is a school night we ushered the kids (reluctantly) out the door and home for bed.

Top tip: reserve a table during school holidays and you won't need to rush home. Alternatively, why not book in during the day? Remember that kids eat free all day Tuesday, so if there is no school or you're usually at home with your preschooler, hit up SunnyBoy Beach Club for lunch. The Peter Scullin Reserve playground is literally right next door so your kids can burn off some steam before or after your feed.

SunnyBoy Beach Club, we will be back.
