This colourful festival is a fun and affordable day out for all the family.
The G boys and I checked it out on the first Children's Day. It got the big thumbs up from them all - which makes me happy!
The G boys spent the best part of a day tip toeing through the fields of colour and discovering the wonders that the festival has to offer. Trust me, there is plenty to do!
If the sea of colour in the tulip fields isn't enough, then the kids will explode with excitement with all the activities that are happening as part of Children's Days (19th-22nd Sept & 26th-29th Sept).
This year's entertainment includes:
- Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom
- Hoot and Hootabelle
- Mik Maks
- Tractor rides
- Petting zoo
- Reptile zoo
- And much more.
As if this wasn't enough, the G boys loved hunting for the seven lost gnomes who have left the Fairy Hollow and are hiding in the tulip gardens.
Th magical Fairy Hollow is a great place for the kids to embrace the magic of the land of the festival fairies. Fairy Monica can regularly be heard telling her tales to the kids to add to the magic of this area.
Children are free under the age of 16 as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Adult tickets are $26 and are available at the gate or can be purchased on line at tulipfestival.com.au
We chose to pack a picnic but there are also plenty of tempting treats (sweet and savoury) dotted around the festival grounds to refuel.
Parking is free and plenty of it.
You may want to pack gum boots and spare clothes as it's a little bit boggy in parts after the rains. But this doesn't get in the way of enjoying the fun day out.
So what are you waiting for? Treat the kids to an adventure in the spring colours of the hills. You'll want to go back for more!
The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is open daily (10am – 5pm) during September 8 – October 4 at The Tesselaar Tulip Farm, 357 Monbulk Road, Silvan, Victoria.
