Summertime at the Hungry Peacock in Tyabb

It's been a while since the KidTown crew have ventured to The Hungry Peacock and the The Busy Peacock in Tyabb.

So why not head out to the Peacock with Miss 3 in the middle of the summer holidays!? My saving grace for a busy three year old, I'll let her explain more...

There is nothing I love better than exploring my own creativity and expressing myself through different forms of craft and creation. Mummy however refers to this as "making a huge mess that she has to tidy up afterwards". So I usually reserve my artistic and sensory endeavours for play centres and playgroup.

One very hot Thursday we arrived a fabulous looking barn called "The Busy Peacock."

As we walked in we were delighted to see activity after activity. Cleaning, painting, slime, balls, shapes. The adventure went on and on. A lovely lady with a huge smile introduced herself to us as Blaire and she told me that this was her barn and I was free to play with whatever I wanted to. That I wasn't to worry about making any mess as cleaning up was her job. Her only rule was to just do one activity at a time so they didn't get mixed up.

I had some much fun trying everything. My favourite was washing the car.

After our 45 minute session we then went through to the Hungry Peacock.

Now this is my kind of cafe. There was an menu full of all sorts of yummy food for both mummy and I. Because it was a Thursday, my meal was free. Mummy was most hasppy about this as she said it would save her from cooking later. I was most happy about this too as it saved me from eating mummy's cooking later!

The drinks menu was even better than the food menu. With a range of soft drinks, milkshakes and of course the usual hot drinks and coffees for adults. Mummy seemed to be overjoyed in the fact that there was local wines and beers avalible too.

There where toys inside and outside all contained within a gated fence. This allowed me to wander around freely and explore, knowing that mummy was enjoying her coffee safely at the table.

Whatever Melbourne's unpredictable weather may throw at us, I'm glad we have found a safe place to escape to. Whatever the the weather, mummy and I can head to the Peacock for a play and some food. For a few hours at least anyway.
