A new Christmas tale with a twist opens at the Malthouse Theatre this festive season; The Listies Ruin Xmas.
The Listies Ruin Xmas
Melbourne's very own comedy duo Richard Higgins and Matthew Kelly, take a tongue-in-cheek look at Christmas, and perform their antics to Sydney and Melbourne audiences for a limited time.
Think slap-stick comedy, poo jokes, and silly on-stage antics that tickle your funny bone, in a hilarious new take on the traditional Christmas pantomime.
This is not the first kids comedy show The Listies have performed to family audiences. The comedy duo's first comedy show for kids was nominated for a Barry Award at the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and went on to receive five star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
"Nobody else does comedy for kids this brilliantly, but what’s more astounding is that adults have just as much fun. The Listies occupy a dimension all of their own." – The Age
Since then, The Listies' have toured Australia, spreading merriment around the country. Melbourne's leading kidult comedians have also released their first book Ickypedia, an illustrated dictionary of absurd words invented by The Listies.
The Listies Ruin Xmas appeals to young and old, suited to children age 6 plus. On-stage madness will include some ridiculous props, while The Listies follow their obsession with improbable lists.
