Summer holidays can be a really hard time for preschoolers. They go from having the free reign of all the parks and play centres, to all-of-a-sudden having to share with older school aged children... and we all know how much pre schoolers love to share... not!
The Messy Shed
Miss 3 and went to The Messy Shed today; a children's activity centre which is all about creative play for preschoolers.
"The Messy Shed" is what it says on the tin, it's an area for kids to get creative and darn right messy.
With painting, crafts, water play and so much more, Miss 3 was given a 45 minute free reign to make as much mess as she liked.
Best part being.. I didn't have to clean up the mess! A smock is provided, however I would suggest wearing old clothes just in case.
Next on the play list.. Totsville in the same building. Totsville is a pretend villiage complete with a cafe, post office and even a building site. A village where little imaginations are free to role play, with costumes to encourage little minds to get into character.
There is also a small soft play area where little climbers can scramble and slide to their hearts content.
With an excellent cafe and plenty of seating, I was able to sit and watch Miss 3 play while I enjoyed a large flat white.

Just when I thought The Messy Shed couldn't get any better, Miss 3 noticed "The Little Hair Place"; a small hair salon set up especially for kids complete with toys and iPad filled with kids favourite watches. Jo the lovely owner was so good and with Miss 3, that she actually enjoyed getting her hair cut! Win!

Though older children are welcome at The Messy Shed, the centre is really catered towards younger children.
