Miss 3 and I ventured to Werribee Zoo today. Miss 3 had such a fantastic day that she said that she wanted to do the review, so this is written from her perspective not mine. Werribee zoo through the eyes of my 3 year old...
I love going to the zoo, animals are my most favourite thing in the whole wide world. I was so excited when mummy told me that today we where going to go to Werribee open range zoo.
The first thing I wanted to do when we got there was to go on one of the special safari buses. Mummy said that the buses where included in the price of admission so they didn't cost any extra money. I wasnt allowed to eat any snacks on the bus but that was ok because I got to sit by the window and put my seat belt on all by myself. The safari was going to last 40 minutes and mummy promised we could have a snack afterwards.
The bus was very bumpy which I loved as it felt we where on a roller coaster. I held on tight as we went down the big hill into the enclosure. As we drove through the different areas the bus driver told us all about the animals that we saw. My favourite were the zebras, which the bus driver told us were actually black with white stripes.
We got off the bus and had our picnic on a picnic table in the shade. We went on a very hot day so we didn't need any hot food, but there were BBQs available to use if we wanted to. Mummy bought a cup of coffee because apparently she can't function without one, whatever that means?
After lunch I was hot. I just wanted to jump into a load of water so we walked to Hippo Beach. Giant statue hippos had water shooting out of them. I had the best time ever running through the splash area with the other boys and girls.
Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better we arrived at the lions. There was a jeep that had crashed through the glass that I was able to climb on and pretend that I was driving in Africa. The lions came up so close to the glass that I was able to come face to face with one. It was the best thing ever!
Because it was such a hot day, I loved that I was able to push the button at the filling stations and fill up my water bottle. Don't tell mummy but I drank extra water so I could keep filling up my water bottle because it was so much fun pressing the button. Werribee zoo doesn't have as much walking as some of the other zoos so I didn't even my pram. Mummy took it with her just in case but I really think it was because she didn't want to have to carry the picnic.
And because I was under 4 years old it was free for me to get in. I told mummy we could use the money we saved to get an ice cream from the cafe that had meerkats in it. Though I think mummy just wanted to watch the meerkats in the air conditioning.
I'm going to do the whole day again in my dreams tonight. Goodnight from Miss 3.
