An inspiring selection of live shows and interactive workshops for kids on offer at Arts Centre Melbourne this season

We might be transitioning into Melbourne's cooler months, however the winter/spring 2019 program at Arts Centre Melbourne will leave your family feeling warm and toasty inside, in a way that only live theatre can do.

"We are delighted to present a program of engaging, ambitious works for children this season at Arts Centre Melbourne," says Claire Spencer, CEO of Arts Centre Melbourne.

From Whoosh! a beautiful interstellar adventure designed for children with a range of disabilities, through to the heartwarming adventure of The Red Tree; translated from book to stage, which follows a girl leaving her fears behind in favour of hope.

There's a hip-hop b*boy battle in Between Tiny Cities; a tale mixing Cambodian and Australian cultures told through physical language and dance. Speaking of hip-hop, there's also a very beary tale for young funksters; One the Bear fuses infectious beats with rhyme and humour.

TETRIS is brought to life in a colourful, physical form by renowned dance company Arch 8 from The Netherlands. Plus a tale of a hyper-coloured world in which Tim Sharp's Laser Beak Man finds a way to protect his oldest nemesis from destroying the city.

From the makers of Grug comes Beep; an endearing story about an unexpected friendship and working out where you fit in.

And an Indigenous story explored through Nathan Maynard's new work A Not So Traditional Story.

For the younger Melburnian theatre goers, there's a chance to see Eric Hill's much-loved book character Spot the dog arrives on stage in November.
