It's official: Kids of Melbourne have been struck by the winter doldrums. Households across Victoria, plagued by groaning, moaning...perhaps some disowning. School holidays, wet playgrounds, that very same cartoon they saw yesterday, not hard to diagnose. These doldrums can be hard to remedy, but not to worry, because our KidTown specialist-doctor-guys have a cure: an exhilarating thrill-ride through a jungle! Well, okay, an African Safari might be a bit far, but that's okay, because Melbourne has it's very own.
Though the holidays are half over, Werribee Open Range Zoo are just warming up. Till 11th July, open beyond sunset for their riveting 'Wild Nights". Come experience the nocturnal jungle. From cheetahs, lions, hippos, to squirrel gliders, dunnarts and bandicoots; it's a party for these wild jungle stop-outs. So bring your torch, and watch these fellas strut their stuff.
But the creatures aren't the only heroes in town. With nightly fire-spinning performers, interactive 'Glow Zone' for kids to sharpen their circus skills, mystical Secret Garden to roam and explore, and Ranger Kids indoor area for any kid-vets in the house, young minds will be stimulated, awed, revitalized. And once they've seen the wondrous sites, settle down for some (free) marshmallow toasting.
For a super Wild Night, why not book a spot on the Dusk Safari Bus Tour (with limited seats, early booking recommended). And if you'd like to stay overnight, there's also a Slumber Safari Camp!
