Tap into your child's inner story telling with Michelle Hamer

Former journalist and published author Michelle Hamer, will run a series of creative writing workshops for children over the Easter school holidays.

Wordsmiths Creative Writing Workshops

Michelle's writing camps held at Frankston South's Community and Recreation Centre, combine creative arts with storytelling, to bring your child's stories to life.

Suited to all children who like to tell a story, Michelle's two workshops running over the Easter break include:

Skateboards, Street Art & Story

Over two hours, your child will decorate a full size wooden skateboard deck (no wheels!), front and back, using paint and adornments.

As your child's artwork dries in the sun, he or she will work on a short story with Michelle. After an edit or two, the story and skateboard come together, ready to take home and admire, but not before reading his or her story to the group. (Michelle will present the piece if your child feels nervous).

When: Tuesday 5 April 2016. 10am - midday
Cost: $30pp includes take home artwork

Me - The Masterpiece

The afternoon Me workshop allows your child to express him or herself through art and writing. First, the group will create self-portraits, and following that, a short autobiography! With the help of Michelle, your son or daughter will piece together all their favourite things, and go home with a cool art-and-writing masterpiece to celebrate who they are.

When: Tuesday 5 April 2016. 1 - 3pm
Cost: $30 includes take home artwork

Keep your kid's minds ticking with Michelle's creative writing classes this Easter. To book, go to wordsmithsworkshops.com.au

All classes are held at: Frankston South Community Recreation Centre, Towerhill Rd
