What's on at the Zoo these Spring school holidays

Visiting the zoo is always a winner during the school holidays. Kids under 16 yrs enter free in the school holidays, plus all three venues host new and exciting activities during each school holiday break.

To entice you into Melbourne, Werribee or Healesville Zoo this Spring, here is a low down of what's on and when:

Keeper Care Club at Melbourne Zoo

Get up close and personal with some of Melbourne Zoo’s most fascinating animals like never before and discover how keepers train them and enrich their lives at Keeper Care Club.

Launching just in time for school holidays, Melbourne Zoo’s all new Keeper Care Hub invites you to witness macaws in full flight and find out how the Zoo's carnivores take part in health care and enrichment programs.

Plus, experience animal training and feeding sessions around the zoo.

Connect with Indigenous Culture at Werribee Zoo

Connect with Australian animals and Indigenous culture these spring school holidays during a new, meaningful and immersive experience at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Kulin Dreaming invites visitors to get up close to some of Australia’s most iconic and endangered animals while hearing from members of the local Kulin Nation community.

Visit the Zoo’s Australian Trail to make bush tea, learn Aboriginal dance, hear animal stories and create your own Indigenous arts and craft. Don’t forget to say hello to Werribee Zoo’s resident koalas, kangaroos and emus.

Immersive Theatre at Healesville Sanctuary

Awaken from your winter hibernation and discover the curiosity and magic of the Healesville Sanctuary during Bushland Explorers activities these Spring school holidays.

Get even closer to nature as larger-than-life butterflies and ants roam throughout the Sanctuary grounds. Giant butterflies, Flitter and Flutter, will float magically through the Sanctuary each day of the school holidays.

The second week of the school holidays sees the arrival of Ants, by Polyglot Theatre. This interactive roving performance has giant ants bringing children together in a gentle and intriguing landscaping project.
